Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-23
DoctorsCare ("we", "our") provides clinical practice-management software to healthcare practitioners in Bangladesh. This policy explains what personal and health data we collect, how it is used, and the rights you and your patients have over that data.
1. Data we collect
- Doctor account data: name, email, phone, medical specialisation, BMDC licence number, workplace, login credentials and audit metadata.
- Patient data entered by doctors: name, contact details, demographics, medical history, allergies, prescriptions, appointments, clinical notes and attachments.
- Usage data: service logs, device information and diagnostic events required to operate the platform.
2. How we use data
- Deliver the core product features requested by the doctor.
- Secure the service against fraud and abuse.
- Send operational notifications (with opt-out).
- Comply with applicable laws, regulatory obligations and lawful requests.
We do not sell patient data and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Data controllers and processors
The treating doctor is the data controller for patient records created in their account. DoctorsCare acts as a data processor on the doctor's behalf and only processes patient data to provide the service.
4. Retention
Active clinical records are retained for the life of the doctor's account. Audit logs are retained for up to 18 months and are automatically purged by a daily scheduled job thereafter. On a verified right-to-forget request, patient PII fields are anonymised and all linked records are hard-deleted within 30 days of admin approval.
5. Security
Data is transmitted over TLS and stored with industry-standard encryption at rest. Access is limited by authentication, rate limits and role-based permissions. Sensitive fields on offline devices are encrypted with a doctor-chosen PIN.
6. Your rights
- Access & export: doctors may export any patient record they manage from the patient profile.
- Deletion: doctors may request deletion of any patient record; requests are reviewed by the DoctorsCare compliance team before permanent removal.
- Correction: doctors can update records directly in the product.
